Coming as no surprise, the sequel featuring the stunning Israeli actress has surpassed all expectations this summer, becoming the highest-grossing live-action film ever directed by Patty Jenkins, a remarkable female director. This remarkable achievement even surpassed the international success of Phyllida Lloyd’s 2008 adaptation of Mamma Mia!, which amassed a stunning $609.8 million in box office sales globally. It comes as no surprise that Jenkins, who masterfully directed the first film, has already envisioned a captivating storyline for the sequel. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in April, Jenkins revealed that she imagines the Amazonian superhero embarking on a new adventure set in the United States. She believes it’s the perfect setting, stating, “She’s Wonder Woman. It’s only fitting that she graces America with her presence. The time has come.”

Ka-ching! It's safe to say Gadot is in line for a major raise after taking in a relatively-paltry $300,000 for appearing in the original film

Ka-ching! It’s safe to assume that Gadot will be receiving a substantial pay raise after earning a modest $300,000 for her role in the first film. During a conversation, Jenkins expressed that although she typically isn’t motivated by financial obligations when it comes to her art, telling the story of the iconic superheroine is a significant exception. She stated that the desire to work on a film like this stems from a genuine belief in its message. Jenkins had a realization one night that she had assembled an outstanding cast for the first film, and with the freedom to say anything she wanted through this character, she understood that Wonder Woman 2 could be its own remarkable movie. The director went on to say that after successfully creating Wonder Woman, her goal was now to create Wonder Woman 2, as it is an important story to tell, particularly in the present moment, and with people she deeply cares for. Gadot recently attended Comic-Con, stunning in an elegant white dress, where she had the chance to meet and interact with fans. One particular interaction that stood out was with a young girl who was dressed in a Wonder Woman costume. This encounter undoubtedly brightened her day.
