Tegan was taken by surprise to find an unexpected feline visitor in her backyard. She immediately noticed his unsteady walk as he stumbled and staggered with each step.
As soon as the cat caught sight of Tegan, he staggered towards her, seeking attention and head scratches enthusiastically. Clearly malnourished and yearning for affection, he was in desperate need of both food and love, as well as a warm shelter.
Worried about the young cat’s well-being, Tegan reached out to her sister, Amber, who happens to be the founder of Saving Grace Rescue, a rescue organization specializing in the care of kittens and special needs cats.
He arrived in Tegan’s backyard and stumbled his way over to her SavingGraceRescue. “He strolled through an open gate to enter the backyard. It was as if he sensed a special needs rescue was nearby,” Amber shared with Love Meow. Little did they know, the young cat named Engine has cerebellar hypoplasia, a condition that impacts his motor skills, balance, and coordination.
He was a friendly and extremely hungry dog in need of help. Saving Grace Rescue stepped in to assist. After tracking down where he originated from, they found out that he had been living in a car with his owner, who left him behind to wander the streets when they could no longer take care of him. Amber decided to take him in, giving the sweet boy a fresh start and a new chance at life.
Epgine settling into his new foster home with Saving Grace Rescue is a heartwarming sight. He is a social butterfly, instantly warming up to everyone he meets, whether it’s at the vet hospital or in the comfort of his temporary home. On his first day, he moved from one lap to another, forming a cuddly ball of affection and eagerly accepting hugs from anyone around, as if trying to make up for all the lost time.

Despite being a little unsteady, Enigma is in great health and loves to cuddle. He follows his humans around like a shadow and watches over them as they go about their daily tasks.
Enzo loves keeping up with his people and is always eager to join in any playtime activities. According to Amber from Saving Grace Rescue, he will follow them around and make it known when he wants some attention. Enzo isn’t afraid to throw himself into the fun, whether it’s leaping onto someone’s lap or sliding down a slope to get as close as he can. Despite any falls or tumbles, Enzo always bounces back up with boundless energy, playing with all his heart until he’s completely worn out.
He adores playing with all kinds of toys at Saving Grace Rescue. Every toy he picks up brings him joy, and his charming personality never fails to bring a smile to everyone’s face. With enthusiasm, he enthusiastically chases feather toys and explores tunnels with excitement. Despite his wobbliness, he keeps going without missing a beat.
Enzo is a very playful and incredibly affectionate dog who loves spending time with the family’s chickens in the backyard. He enjoys soaking up the sun and relaxing in the fenced-in area, cherishing the moments he gets to spend with the chickens and appreciating the fresh air and gentle breeze.
Initially curious about the chickens, Enzo now peacefully hangs out with them while they roam around the yard, forming a unique bond with the feathered members of the household. The chickens no longer fear him and happily coexist with Enzo in their shared outdoor space.
